Justin Shorb began his journey in Portage, Michigan, where he developed a passion for science and education. He pursued this passion at Hope College, earning dual bachelor's degrees in Math and Chemistry. Driven by a desire to deepen his knowledge, Justin went on to earn a Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry and Chemistry Education Research at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. His academic career includes teaching positions at esteemed institutions such as Hope College, Sinte Gleska University, University of the Virgin Islands, and Duke University. Justin's dedication to innovative education led him to the Ed Tech sector, where he exceled as a Product Manager for a Chemistry and Biology Open Educational Resources Library, making high-quality educational materials accessible to all. He currently works with LibreTexts as the Director of Curriculum Design and Development to expand OER resources to make learning materials open, inexpensive, and accessible to all students in all disciplines!
